Dia Del Nino Festival in Santa Ana

Early Sunday morning on April 28th, 2013 The Art Cart set out to participate in the 2nd Annual Dia Del Nino Art Festival at Birch Park in Santa Ana CA. Dia Del Nino, a children's art festival, is held in part by Arts Orange County and the Orange County Department of Education, as a collaborative event with the Imagination Celebration going on throughout Orange County from April 20th to May 26th. As the big day anxiously unfolded, The Art Cart's volunteers prepped the scene and the canvas for the day was yet another VW Bus.

With the support of two amazing companies Vintage Surfari Wagons of Costa Mesa (http://www.vwsurfari.com/), who graciously donated the VW bus and To' and Mo' Towing of Santa Ana (http://www.toandmotowing.com/), for donating their time to move the bus to Birch Park, this amazing day came to fruition.

 

And of course there was help from some amazing volunteers

The Art Cart was finally ready to roll...

 

The theme of this year's festival was the butterfly migration. The Butterfly Parade came marching through downtown Santa Ana and finally commenced at Birch park to kick off the day's festivities.

Children of all ages along with tons of adults were given the opportunity to paint the blue bus
